Abstrak
Advances in post-harvest technology in Indonesia require the availability of high quality raw materials for the agricurtural product processing industry. Agricurtural products in the form of granules, coffee beans require more serious attention, especially in the drying process. Threfore, this final project aims to determine the temperature obtained and how long it takes to provide a new innovation and be able to speed up the drying process. This final project uses the design and build method. The design and construction method was carried out to obtain data on design, machine manufacture, and design of a coffee bean drying machine using a steam compression cycle with the addition of a heater. With a 600 Watt capacity heater, you can shorten the drying time to just 3 hours with coffee bean humidity of 35,6 % to 11,7 %. After carrying out 6 trials, the drying machine finally managed to reach a maximum temperature of 64,4 oC in 45 minutes. With the help of this heater, it really helped drying to be more efficient.
