Abstrak
The purpose of this study is to design and develop a cooling system that uses the thermoelectric principle to maintain the temperature of apples to keep them fresh and durable. This system aims to reduce post-harvest losses and maintain the quality of apples. The method used in this study involves the design and manufacture of thermoelectric cooling system that can regulate the temperature of the apple storage environment. In addition, this study also involves testing and evaluating the performance of the cooling system to ensure that the temperature of the apples remains within the desired range. Thermoelectric based fruit cooling system is cooling that utilizes the cold side of thermoelectricity. Advances in technology produce thermoelectric devices made of semiconductor materials in small durable forms ranging from 1 hour. This study aims to determine the performance of thermoelectric cooling using apples. Where the calculation on the cooling load produces 219.93 Watts this is equivalent to 4 thermoelectric pieces and 1 thermoelectric pcs requires 60 watts so that 4 thermoelectric pieces are needed. For thermoelectrics used type TEC1-12706. Based on the results of tests that have been carried out on the performance of the test so that the thermoelectric COP produces 0.30 temperature efficiency 30% in the cabin produces 16,4°C.
