Abstrak

Ice cubes are complementary ingredients derived from water frozen in the refrigerator. By using an Ac 1 pk machine, making ice cubes can be done with an air cooling process and can also be cooled with brine media. This aims to determine the effect of variations in brine content on the performance of the ice cube machine. Tested 3 times, with salt concentrations of 30%, 40% and 50% in 40 liters of water, tested for 4 hours using refrigerant R22. The conclusion from the results of this final project, experiments on the effect of salt content on ice cube freezing using 50% salt content is better than 30% and 40% salt content. It can be seen that the actual COP value is 4,5 and the carnot COP is 8,1 so that it has a higher efficiency value of 55%. Meanwhile, at a salt content of 30%, the actual COP value is 3,2 and the COP carnot is 7,4 so that the efficiency value is 43% and the salt content is 40%, the actual COP value is 3,7 and the COP carnot is 7 so that the efficiency value is 53. %. From the results above it can be seen that the more the percentage of salt content in the ice cube freezing machine system, the lower the cabin temperature results obtained so as to speed up the ice cube freezing process.
