AC is an air conditioning machine that is widely used in homes or offices. It turns out that, apart from cooling the room, the air conditioner can also be used to make ice cubes, which is even more efficient and economical than using the refrigerator or freezer. The machine used is a split AC outdoor unit. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the ice cube maker (COP) machine with the conventional system method by adding a secondary refrigerant in the form of brine with a salt percentage of 40% of the volume of water into the system to cool the product in the cabin. To achieve this goal the researchers calculated the cooling load on the brine cooling system. The brine temperature reached in 4 hours is -5°C and the product temperature reached in 2 hours is 0°C, the COPactual obtained from this brine cooling system is 3.318, the COPcarnot is 4.276 and the efficiency is 77.6%, the electric power is 352 Watt, and monthly electricity costs IDR 356,910.
