Abstrak

In the world of health, cooling devices are used to cool vaccines, drugs, and blood. Blood that is ready to be transfused is blood that has been stored in a blood storage bank or donated directly or blood taken directly, transfused to those in need in a short time. Blood that has come out of the blood storage bank only lasts less than 4 hours when carried using a box filled with ice cubes. Making boxes that are useful for the process of distributing medical equipment, especially blood. For this reason, a tool is needed that can cool and maintain temperature with a more system and does not require a large place. The manufacture of thermoelectric-based smart coolers for human blood storage is assisted by forced convection by dc fans, heatsinks and icepacks. The purpose of this study is to create a cooling system in the coolbox for whole blood (wb) complete blood storage with thermoelectric (TEC)1-12706 which can maintain blood temperature at standard storage temperature of 2°C-6°C and transport 2°C-10°C. The test method carried out is a cooling test method using thermoelectric without icepack with testing using thermoelectric with icepack, within 60 minutes. The load used is 1 bag of blood 250 ml. From the test results using thermoelectric without icepack, the lowest temperature achievement of 29°C was obtained while in testing using thermoelectric with icepack, the lowest temperature achievement was 8°C, testing using thermoelectric without icepack obtained the lowest temperature achievement of 29.1°C, and testing using icepack without thermoelectric obtained the lowest temperature achievement of 8.6°C.
