Paper is used as the main medium for writing, printing, and painting and there are many other uses that can be done with paper. The process of shredding paper that is no longer used, such as office or university documents, misprints and others, is urgently needed by installations and companies. To reduce the use of paper waste and in an effort to preserve the environment, an effective and efficient paper chopper is needed. The purpose of making this paper chopping machine is to find out how the process of making and testing a paper chopping machine is and to find out the variations in the results of a more effective 1 HP (Horse Power) electric motor speed rotation of a paper shredder. The method used is cutting circular saw, using variations of speed 2280 Rpm, 1689.5 Rpm, 1039.5 Rpm. The most effective test results showed that using a speed of 2280 Rpm resulted in finer shredded paper and reduced the shredded weight, namely using a machine rotation speed of 2280 Rpm with a 1 kg chopped weight reduced to 0.96 kg.
